Gems: Bible Meditation
The short version: Gems stores your journal on your device by default. We don't collect any personal data. iCloud sync and location are optional and fully in your control.
Overview
Gems: Bible Meditation is an iOS journaling app by TapShiftDev for capturing daily spiritual insights, tracking a meditation streak, and organizing reflections with photos, voice memos, and (optionally) location. This policy explains how your information is handled.
What we don't collect
- Personal information
- Your journal entries or reflections
- Usage analytics
- Location data (never sent to our servers)
- Device identifiers
- Browsing or app activity
What is stored on your device
- Your journal entries and scripture reflections
- Photos attached to entries
- Voice memos you record
- Location data (only if you choose to enable it)
- Streak and badge progress
- App preferences and settings
By default, all of this stays on your device.
iCloud sync (optional)
Gems offers an optional iCloud Sync feature that syncs your journal across your own Apple devices. When enabled, your data is stored in your private iCloud account, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We never have access to it, and we operate no servers of our own.
Location (optional)
If you enable location for an entry, it is stored with that entry on your device (and in your iCloud if sync is on). It is never transmitted to us or any third party.
Third-party services
Aside from Apple's own iCloud (only if you enable sync), Gems uses no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
Children's privacy
Gems collects no personal data from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated date above will change and material changes will be noted on the App Store listing.
